Cassie needs a good home :(

I have until I move back to school on September 3rd to find her a home, otherwise she will be dropped off at the shelter. 

She is 8 years old. Despite he beagle bark and her tendency to tare apart any garbage in sight when left alone and out of her crate, she is a good dog. She used to hunt in her younger years and probably still could if someone put the time and effort into retraining her. She doesn’t much like young kids and is rather protective of her toys, treats and food, but loves to cuddle when she is not hiding her property. She has never bitten, but has snapped at my four-year-old cousin. She is up-to-date on all of her shots, but is not spayed, though if need be, spaying could be taken care of before being placed in her new home.

I would like to avoid the shelter at all costs and place her in a new home that will love her and care for her for the rest of her life by myself, but I need help as I have a very short time limit. If anyone knows anyone who may be looking for a small dog, who doesn’t have young kids, please put me in contact with them.
